    World War II 1943: A World at War Postage Stamps The Postal Service issued a commemorative sheet of ten 29-cent stamps marking the 50th anniversary of World War II in Washington, DC. This issuance is the first in a series of five issued annually through 1995. The stamps were manufactured by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in the offset/intaglio process. The stamps, designed by artist Bill Bond of Arlington, Virginia.
