  • Antique charger or plaque, signed by the world renowned master Limoges artist, A. Bronssillon (Brousillon) (Broussillon). Proudly displays the George Borgfeldt (Coronet) Factory mark 1, circa 1906. Coronet Limoges were decorated in studios in Paris, France and were then imported by George Borgfeldt to the United States.

    His use of shading, depth, color and his attention to detail has made Broussillon an old world master.

    This plaque or charger is large and measures 11 1/2" in diameter.

    Against a background of muted creams, yellows, oranges and mossy greens, , Broussillon has hand painted a graceful game-bird gliding down from the trees into the grassy meadow below. The light filtering effect, his use of deep, rich colors and the way he created texture has resulted in his artwork being some of the most highly sought after Limoges pieces in the world.

    The color palette and his expert ability to create texture, shadows and depth have resulted in a Limoges hand painted charger that is truly a delight to the beholder.

    Heavily gilded gold rococo rim is in very good condition with less than expected wear to the high points.
